The province of Baluchestan, the home of the Balouch rug (also Belouch or Balooch), borders the south-east of Kerman and is host to many Turkish tribes who settled in the region centuries ago to tend their flock. Belouch rugs are closely related to Turkman rugs, in fact they are technically Turkman pieces, only Turkman rugs are differentiated due to their very high quality. Camels are important to Baluchi tribes and the camel print, as well as (very occasionally) camel hair, is used in the creation of their rugs. Balouch rugs can be made on a foundation of cotton or wool, goat hair is often used in the weft. The 'camel print' or 'gul' repeat medallions are common in Baluchi rugs although various other designs are produced. Baluchi rugs are soft and flexible yet extremely resilient and have a real feeling of age and history behind them. They are sought after in the West due to their tribal appeal. SHIPPING POLICY
All rug orders are delivered via UPS Ground Shipping Or Federal Express at NO charge to you (in the contiguous United States excl. AK, HI). We will email tracking information to you when it becomes available.
For oversized rugs (larger than 9'0 x 12'0), alternative shipping methods might have to be arranged. In this case, an independent trucking company will contact you to arrange delivery of your rug(s) during business hours.
Free shipping and handling is not included with the purchase of products other than rugs.
PROCESSING/TRANSIT TIME
Most of our rugs ship within 6 to 8 business days. That means that you should receive tracking information within 8 business days, but it can take up to two weeks for certain items. If an item is unexpectedly out of stock, we will contact you with an approximate restock date. Rugs that are oversized (larger than 9'0 x 12'0) are typically shipped freight and may take longer to process and ship.
RETURNS
We do not accept returns for online rug orders. All online purchases are final sale.
Pads and samples are non-refundable.
DAMAGED ITEMS
If for any reason a rug is delivered damaged, please use the contact form and a representative will contact you asap. We stand by our products and return all damaged goods! Damaged goods must be reported within 15 days.
