From Fashion to the Floor - FALL COLORS

New colors hit the runway first, and then home furnishings soon follow. This coming season "designers’ pay homage to progressive moments in American history – from the seductive ‘20s to the bohemian hippie and modernists of the ‘60s and ‘70s," says Pantone Color Institute's Leatrice Eiseman.

"Juxtaposition of color from opposite sides of the spectrum emphasizes poise and confidence... it is the first time we are seeing a truly unisex color palette."

Enjoy (and share!) this selection of rugs to match or complement the Fall 2015 color palette:

"Dried Herb (17-0627) is an organic shade redolent of nature’s earthy fragrances." Shalimar features new interpretations of beautiful Peshawar rugs. Hand-knotted in India of 100% wool, each rug is luster washed giving these pieces a truly antique feel.

"Desert Sage (16-0110), a cool and soothing greenish-gray that serves as the ideal neutral across the Fall 2015 palette." The Maddox collection is made of hand knotted wool and features a gorgeous, soft texture in warm neutral colors.

"Stormy Weather (18-4214) is dependable, cool and above all, constant." RIO SHADES OF GRAY, a woven reversible rug captures both the hue and the mood.

"Oak Buff (16-1144) is a mellow, comforting and warming shade that brings good feelings." Ornate traditional rugs distressed and full of character are modernized by illuminating colorways in the Anastasia collection. (Loloi)

"Marsala (18-1438) incorporates the warmth and richness of a tastefully fulfilling meal, while its grounding red-brown roots point to a sophisticated, natural earthiness." Made in the tradition of Gabbehs from the foothills of Iran, our Desert Gabbeh collection is hand-knotted in India of 100% wool given a modern twist with its warm color palette and designs. (Momeni)

"The cool and confident tone of Biscay Bay (18-4726) inspires thoughts of soothing tropical waters, transporting us to a place that is pleasant and inviting." Kaleidoscope offers an antiqued, yet modern aesthetic.

"Reflecting Pond (19-4326) is a cooling blue that adds dimension and intrigue. It is a serious shade that speaks to the need for stability and security." Expressions by Oriental Weavers for Pantone Universe fits well here.

"Both playful and sophisticated in its appeal, Cadmium Orange (15-1340) is a warm, welcoming and subtly dramatic hue that is striking enough to stand on its own or act as a bold contrast." With options suited to many styles and aesthetics, Fables brings together a diverse collection of patterns ranging from sophisticated transitional to boldly scaled contemporary. (Jaipur)

"Cultivated in its richness, Cashmere Rose (16-2215) displays a gently persuasive and composed pink that is more upscale than downtown." Hudson is a good match. (Rugs America)

"Amethyst Orchid is the jewel in the crown of the Fall 2015 palette. Intriguing, vibrant and somewhat sensual, this enigmatic shade is an extraordinary hue that is unique, bold, creative and exciting." Fashion-forward color and a soft texture highlight the relaxed sophistication of the Coastal Living Dhurries Collection. (Jaipur)
